6 + Writing traits :Sentence Fluency
Hello,
It was a lovely afternoon when each blogging group was given a Writing Trait
To do the research and present it in a clear and precise way
My group did Sentence Fluency and this is what it states
It deals with the Rhythm and flow of the language
Also the sound of word patterns
It plays on the ears and not just on the eyes
So it must be read aloud
That is the test.
Sentences vary in length, beginning, structure and style
However the reading should be easy to read not hard on the eyes
Use a blend of simple, compound and complex sentences.
Use the same grammatical form for similar idea within the sentence
That is called Parallelism
Read Aloud
Model Reading
Story telling
Songs
These are some activities to enhance Sentence Fluency
There are some questions to ask yourself
To check for Sentence Fluency
The picture below demonstrates it perfectly
One may ask why should you know about the writing traits
For me it will help me assess students writing
It can also help me give effective feedback base on what is lacking in the writing.
It helps students produce good writing since it teaches the skills needs for each trait
Now my friends we must ensure we know not just one but all the writing traits
Cause for one of the LIT course assignment
We have to analyze a child's writing

Guy, do you know it was my first time hearing about the Writing Traits😲😲? I was amazed of how it can be very useful when analyzing a piece of writing. This is a must have in the classroom since it allows both teachers and students to focus on just one or two more elements of writing at a time than which make it manageable. Feedback is very essential in the teaching and learning process and guess what? the writing traits allows the teacher to give feedback to students through the assessment of their writing.
The groups did a great job on their presentation and it opened a sea of questions in my head. It also made me wonder if I was limiting my students and myself because of my ignorance of the 6+ writing traits.
